Carmen Mirador de Aixa, located on Carril de San Agustín, number 2 in Granada and located in the historic Albaicín neighborhood, is located right in front of the Nasrid palaces of the Alhambra and a few steps from the prestigious Mirador de San Nicolás.

In the year 2000, and in memory of Josefa Yáñez González-Aurioles, "Pepita Granada", (flamenco dancer and mother of the current owner of the farm where "Carmen Mirador de Aixa" is located), its gardens were opened to the public, in front of the Nasrid palaces of the Alhambra, from a hospitality business, exclusively as Summer Terrace which, on the advice of its clients, led a decade later into a year-round Restaurant, offering signature Mediterranean cuisine with Andalusian touches. And that is precisely what gives your event a differentiating character: a wedding in Granada in the purest Andalusian style, avant-garde and market cuisine, with the Alhambra and Sierra Nevada as a backdrop and in the heart of the Albaicín.

In 2022, the Fontana Gastronomic Group leases the property, and proceeds to change the gastronomic offer, also adapting the space for greater comfort for customers.

With more than 300 seats, all with views of the Alhambra, Carmen Mirador de Aixa has also currently specialized in all types of events, of any size, being a benchmark for the MICE sector (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) and for weddings in the city of Granada.

The word Carmen refers to a typical house from Granada, from the Albaicín and Realejo area. It has Arabic origin, both the name and the architectural and spatial characteristics. It comes from the Arabic word “karm” and literally means “vine”, a curious detail because all the Cármenes have (or traditionally had) a vine that provided shade at the entrance to the homes. In symbolic language “karm” means “orchard”, which is really what this type of house represents: a true paradise, perfect for a day as special as your wedding.
